About the library

Keble College takes great pride in its Library, both for its comfortable and well equipped reading rooms and for its remarkable historic collections of books, manuscripts and archives.  Its primary purpose is to support undergraduate and postgraduate study on taught courses offered by the College by providing a library service that is responsive to the needs of its users.  It also aims to preserve its historic research collections to make them accessible to the wider scholarly community.

The Library is open to all current members of College 24 hours a day throughout the year. Old Members are welcome to visit by prior appointment. Borrowing privileges are restricted to current members who have valid University Cards.

Other members of the University may be admitted to read in the Library by appointment if the book required is not held by any other Oxford library.  Bona fide scholars who wish to consult material from the special collections may be admitted by appointment only. All requests for appointments should be addressed to The Librarian.
